Christian made his big return to in-ring action at last Sunday’s WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view event from Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida on the WWE Network.
Christian had a history of concussions and in 2014, he was forced to retire from in-ring competition. Last May, he stated in an interview that he was not medically cleared and on a non-contact list with WWE. Obviously, that changed.
While doing an interview with Sporting News, Edge talked about the in-ring return of his good friend as well as when he found out that Christian was medically cleared.
“I was one of the few that was privy to the fact that he got cleared a few months ago. We didn’t know he was going to be in the Rumble until Friday, though. I was in the midst of driving down to his house from North Carolina to stay for the weekend. And then we found out and we’re like ‘OK, well, we’ll drive over to the rumble together then.’”
