WWE’s NXT brand has become one of their most popular programs. In fact, many consider NXT to be WWE’s ‘third brand’ next to Monday Night Raw and SmackDown Live. The success NXT has seen over the years has been astounding. Initially, the Triple H-fronted project was to be used as a developmental brand for future WWE stars.
While that purpose remains intact, many WWE fans have actually begun to prefer the content on NXT to that of the main roster. NXT has produced top WWE stars such as Bray Wyatt, Braun Strowman, Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens, amongst many more. Recently, former WCW President Eric Bischoff spoke about NXT on the “After 83 Weeks with Christy Olson” podcast.
When the subject of NXT possibly extending from one to two hours a week came up, Bischoff seemed to support the idea:
“I think if they’ve got a deep enough roster, and if there’s enough people there that need that exposure and two hours can accommodate that, then bam! Do it! Why would you even wait?
“But if the roster’s thin and you find yourself really tapping into that same roster of talent on a weekly basis, you may run the risk of overexposing at least some of them.”
