Eric Bischoff Says Chris Jericho Should End His Career In WWE: ‘That Is A Story’

Eric Bischoff says Chris Jericho should end his career in WWE, describing it as the natural conclusion to one of professional wrestling’s most storied journeys.

Speaking on 83 Weeks, Bischoff said his perspective was that of a fan rather than a business analyst. “What is left of me as a fan would much rather see him end up at WWE, because that is a story,” Bischoff said. “It is a feel. It is the end of a journey. It is an amazing journey, and AEW was a part of that journey, but ending up telling your story on the biggest stage, in front of the biggest audience, that is kind of obvious.”

Bischoff used Danhausen’s recent WWE debut as a point of comparison. “Danhausen here, Danhausen there,” Bischoff said. “Chris Jericho here. Chris Jericho ending his career there.”

Despite his personal preference, Bischoff said the decision ultimately belongs to Jericho alone. “Whatever Chris really would like to have happen, whatever the dude wants, he has earned it,” Bischoff said. “Either way, he has earned it.”

Bischoff also acknowledged that a return to AEW would only work if a compelling storyline was in place. “Where does he go in AEW?” Bischoff said. “He is back two weeks later. What is it? Where do we go from here? And if there is no really interesting, compelling, fresh answer to that question, honestly, I just could not care less as a fan.”

Jericho has not competed since suffering an injury. His AEW contract is currently a subject of speculation, with reports indicating it may be frozen. He was spotted at a recent movie premiere but has not made any public statements about his in-ring future. He remains listed on AEW’s official roster page.
