A new championship match has been set for WWE NXT Halloween Havoc. On the October 14, 2025, edition of NXT, it was announced that Ethan Page will defend his NXT North American Championship against El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. The match will have a special “Day of the Dead” stipulation.
The segment that made the match official occurred after El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. defeated Lexis King in a singles contest. Following Wagner’s victory, the NXT North American Champion, Ethan Page, came out to the stage. Page addressed Wagner and announced that a championship match between the two of them was set for the upcoming Halloween Havoc event.
After Page made his statement, Wagner responded from the ring. He informed Page that he had already spoken with NXT General Manager Ava to arrange the terms of the match. Wagner then revealed that their title bout would be a Day of the Dead Match, a stipulation honoring his heritage.
The NXT Halloween Havoc event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, October 25, 2025. The show will be held at the Findlay Toyota Center in the city of Prescott Valley, Arizona.
With the challenge and the unique stipulation now agreed upon, the NXT North American Championship match is officially part of the card for the event. Wagner said anything goes in this match.
