Elijah Holyfield, son of the legendary boxer Evander Holyfield, made his WWE in-ring debut tonight before NXT went live on the USA Network. Holyfield’s match was taped for “WWE LFG (Legends & Future Greats),” the competition show that is set to premiere on A&E in early 2025.
Elijah was a star running back in high school at Woodward Academy in Georgia and continued his football career at the University of Georgia. Though he wasn’t drafted into the NFL in 2019, he’s spent time with a few teams, including the Carolina Panthers, Philadelphia Eagles, and Cincinnati Bengals, mostly on their practice squads.
He signed a WWE developmental deal in November 2024 after a successful tryout during SummerSlam weekend. Born on November 30, 1997, Elijah is showing dedication and athleticism and those who saw his match tonight said he was pretty good for a newcomer.
