The next installment in the movie Fast & Furious franchise, “Fast & Furious 9,” was set to be released on May 22, 2020, but that got pushed back to 2021 due to COVID-19.
It was then announced that the film would be released on April 2, 2021. However, that has changed again. Universal Pictures has announced the film will now be released in May 2021.
The reason for the delay isn’t due to COVID-19, but rather a change was made as MGM moved its James Bond pic No Time to Die to April 2, 2021.
Deadline pointed out that Universal is handling the release overseas on No Time to Die as well. Fast & Furious 9 will now go up against Disney’s live-action Cruella starring Emma Stone and the Paramount Mark Wahlberg movie Infinite.
Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, John Cena, Jordana Brewster, John Cena, Nathalie Emmanuel, Helen Mirren and Charlize Theron star in the film.
