As noted, Kenny Omega won the 2016 G1 Climax tournament on Sunday morning in Tokyo, Japan as he defeated Hirooki Goto. Omega will now headline Wrestle Kingdom 11 at the Tokyo Dome on January 4th as he will challenge for the IWGP World Title.
Finn Balor, who worked in NJPW and was part The Bullet Club before joining WWE, commented on Omega’s big win. He posted this on Instagram:
“Wishing Congrats to our friend & colleague @kennyomegamanx on his#g1CLIMAX victory. Not carrying the torch, he is raising the bar. One of my all time favorite opponents in the ring, I have no doubt we will either be side by side, or face to face in the future.”
