Finn Balor has found success outside of WWE and while with the company whether be in NXT or the main roster.
He had a successful stint in NXT before getting called up to the main roster in 2016. However, towards the end of his main roster run, many fans expressed their opinions that they thought the company could’ve used him in a better role. In late 2019, the decision was made to have Balor make a return to NXT and since that time, he managed to work his way up to the main event scene as he’s the current NXT Champion.
Balor talked about the decision to return to NXT while doing an interview with Digital Spy.
“You can make a lot of decisions in this business that you regret but I feel like the thing that affirms that I made the right decision is the different talent I’ve gotten to work with since I’ve been in NXT, people I’ve never worked with before in the past.”
Balor brought up being able to work with wrestlers for the first time such as Matt Riddle, Johnny Gargano, Tommaso Ciampa, and Damian Priest.
“(Going to NXT has) helped me push myself to the limit and take myself out of the comfort zone that I was in on Raw and SmackDown and really kind of challenge myself in the ring,” Balor continued. “So that’s definitely been the kind of thing that affirms I’ve made the right decision to come back to NXT.”
