Finn Balor underwent successful surgery on his torn labrum in Birmingham, Alabama on Tuesday. Balor was forced to relinquish the WWE Universal Championship on Monday Night Raw. Balor was injured at SummerSlam on Sunday night after taking a running powerbomb from Seth Rollins.
He is expected to be out of action for 4-6 months and he will now go home to begin his rehab. WWE announced that a new Universal Champion will be crowned at this coming Monday’s episode of Raw.
If he is out for 6 months then he will be back in time for WrestleMania season. Balor posted the following tweet after his surgery:
