The Sun interviewed former WWE Universal Champion Finn Balor while at last week’s WWE press conference in London where WWE announced the UK Championship tournament. During the interview, he was asked about his shoulder injury that he sustained in August. He noted that this is the first time that he has had a break in wrestling in about ten years. He said that he is making a positive out of a negative and has learned a lot over the last couple of months. He said that the most important thing to him right now is to get 100 percent healthy. “I took myself out of the WWE Performance Center and took myself down to Birmingham, Alabama where they are one of the leading specialists in shoulder rehabilitation and working seven hours a day down” He continues to say that he wants to make it back in time for WrestleMania 33 in Orlando, Florida next year.
When asked about his relationship with Neville, he pointed out that they have been friends since 2002 and have similar journeys in their lives, which is adjusting to dojos in Japan or upping sticks, moving to America, and the adjustment of working for WWE. He added that they both have learned from each other over the last couple of years. “I have the chance to step back and assess where I am and maybe come back a little bit rejuvenated.”
