The first names for WWE’s upcoming Mae Young Classic have been announced. Lacey Evans, Toni Storm, Sarah Logan and Princesa Sugehit are the first four names officially announced by the company.
The New Zealand-born Storm is the current PROGRESS Women’s Champion. She’s also wrestled for IPW Australia and captured the IPW Australian Women’s, Cruiserweight and Hardcore Championships. Evans is a former United States Marine and signed with the company in April 2016. During her time in the USMC, she was part of the military police and a member of the Special Reactions Team.
Sarah Logan, the former Crazy Mary Dobson, has been wrestling since 2011 and had some training from New Japan Pro Wrestling star Taka Michinoku before signing with WWE last October. Princesa Sugehit has been a star for CMLL and AAA in Mexico. She is 36 years old and will probably be the oldest wrestler in this tournament.
Other names expected to be in the tournament but not yet announced by WWE: Zha Xia of China, Mary Kate (formerly Rosie Lottalove/Andrea), Danielle Kamela, Julia Ho, Kimberly Frankele (formerly Kimber Le), Victoria Gonzal3z, Taynaro Melo and wrestlers that are already under contract. There has also been talk of bringing in Tessa Blanchard.
