John Cena’s role as Peacemaker won over the fans when they watched “The Suicide Squad” movie in 2021, leading to a “Peacemaker” spinoff series on the MAX streaming service.
The show is coming back in 2025. The first season premiered in 2022 and was quickly renewed for a second season. The character is a superhero who loves peace so much that he is willing to kill anyone, including innocents, for it.
It was written and directed by James Gunn. Steve Agee, Jennifer Holland, Freddie Stroma, Danielle Brooks, Robert Patrick, and Chukwudi Iwuji also star in the series. At the time, the season finale broke MAX’s record for the biggest single-day release for an HBO Max Original series ever.
HBO has confirmed that the second season will air in 2025, with Cena returning. The former WWE Champion confirmed the news with a first teaser trailer on Twitter. Further details on the plot and exact premiere date are unclear.
