There has been instances of WWE and AEW talent attending shows of the rival promotions whether that be to visit friends or accompany a spouse. What some fans may forget is that while there is a war between the two companies, that doesn’t apply for talent as they have friends in each promotion.
Last week’s episode of SmackDown was noteworthy as it continued the build toward Bash in Berlin. It also saw Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa get physical with each other.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported that Jose The Assistant was backstage at WWE SmackDown in Orlando with Andrade.
Jose previously managed Andrade and La Facción Ingobernable (Rush, Dralístico, and Preston Vance) in AEW after breaking into the business over a decade ago. He did make appearances for WWE in enhancement matches in 2011, where he worked under the name Jose Vargas in a loss to Brodus Clay. The following year on Raw, he teamed with Mike Spinner in a losing effort to Ryback.
Jose started making AEW appearances in 2021 before he departed in April 2024. It should be noted that Jose lives in the area but was there for the show’s duration when he arrived and left with Andrade.
In addition to SmackDown, Jose was seen at a recent set of TNA tapings.
