Former Impact Wrestling star Gunner noted on Twitter that he almost “hung it up” but that it’s now “time to TakeOver,” which has led to speculation that he has signed with WWE to work in NXT. It was reported last month that he was scheduled to take a physical and if he passed it, then WWE would sign him. Since he departed from Impact Wrestling in June of 2015, he has been working on the indy scene.
During an interview with Chris Van Vliet of WSVN-TV, Gunner spoke about possibly signing with WWE. He said that is a dream of his and that he still wants a WrestleMania moment. He stated that is his ultimate goal and that even when he was with Impact Wrestling, he always said that the goal was to go to WWE.
He posted the following:
Hard work pays off. I almost hung it up. I'm glad I didn't. World…..here I come. Time to TakeOver!
