Former WWE star Aron Stevens, known to fans as Damien Sandow, has publicly voiced his support for Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque’s leadership. Appearing on TMZ’s Inside The Ring, Stevens discussed the current state of his former employer and Levesque’s role as the company’s Chief Content Officer.
When asked for his opinion on Levesque running the creative direction of WWE, Stevens praised the WWE Hall of Famer’s ability to navigate both the business and performance aspects of the industry. “I think he’s the best guy for the job,” Stevens said. “He understands the corporate side of it. He’s been in that world for a long time, but he also understands the in-ring, in front of the camera side of it. So, to marry the two, he really, I think is the guy. Look, if I was the CEO and I needed somebody to kind of create that equilibrium and make it work, yeah, I would use him.”
Levesque took over the creative reins of WWE following the departure of Vince McMahon. Under his leadership, the company has seen significant business growth and a shift in programming strategy, including a move of Monday Night Raw to Netflix.
Stevens, a former Money in the Bank winner and Tag Team Champion during his time with WWE, left the company in 2016. He has since found a new home in the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA), where he works as a manager and occasional wrestler. During the interview, he confirmed he recently signed a new two-year contract with the promotion, stating that if WWE or AEW wanted to hire him, “they would have to call Billy [Corgan].”
