Brock Lesnar nearly triggered another former UFC champ for his shenanigans at UFC 226 earlier this month.
You all know the story by now. Following Daniel Cormier’s UFC Heavyweight Title win over Stipe Miocic, he called on Lesnar to enter the cage and all hell broke loose as trainers and officials had to break things up after Lesnar’s shove to Cormier. It turns out that things could have gotten a lot worse. Someone who was inside the cage for the entire sequence of events was Cormier’s good friend and training partner, as well as former UFC middleweight champion, Luke Rockhold.
The former 185-pound champ recently told Submission Radio that he was analyzing Lesnar and the situation closely. Had Cormier not maintained his composure he says that he might have jumped on Lesnar and kicked him in the back of his head:
“I was trying to judge Brock,” Rockhold said. “Brock was coming in hot and pushing ‘DC’ but ‘DC’ kept his composure and he was trying to laugh it off, so… I was trying to judge the situation because I was about to pull a Diaz brother and jump on his back and kick Brock in the head.”
Rockhold also said that he is not a fan of Lesnar getting the title shot. Listen to Rockhold’s comments in the video below.
