WrestlingNews.co is sad to report that Mickey Henson, known to wrestling fans as former WCW/WWE referee Mickey Jay has passed away at the age of 59.
Henson recently battled COVID-19 pneumonia and was taken off life support at 6:19 pm eastern.
Henson got his start in the wrestling business in 1987 in Florida under Dusty Rhodes and Steve Kerin. He later worked for World Championship Wrestling for many years until the company was purchased by the World Wrestling Federation in 2001.
Henson was hired by WWE where he worked many high profile matches, including the Edge vs. Mick Foley match at WrestleMania 22. He left the company in 2009 after he was diagnosed with Mantel cell lymphoma, which he later recovered from.
