Former WrestleMania competitor Maria Menounos undergoes surgery to remove benign brain tumor

Television personality and former Wrestlemania competitor Maria Menounos recently did an interview with People Magazine, and revealed that she had been dealing with a benign brain tumor.

She underwent surgery to remove the tumor on June 9th. Doctors have told her that there is a 6-7% chance that the tumor will return. On top of that, her mother is dealing with stage IV brain cancer. Due to her medical issues, she is stepping away from her job with E! News.

Menounos, who is a long-time WWE fan and has made several appearances with the company over the years, made her first appearance on WWE television in 2009 when she joined Nancy O’Dell as guest host of Raw. At WWE Tribute to the Troops event in 2011, Menounos teamed with Alicia Fox, Eve Torres, and Kelly Kelly to defeat the team of The Bella Twins, Beth Phoenix and Natalya.

She took part in a tag team match at WrestleMania XXVIII with Kelly to take on Phoenix and Torres, hosted the WWE Hall of Fame red carpet pre-show for four years in a row (2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017). She also appeared as a guest backstage interviewer forWrestleMania 31, WrestleMania 32 and Wrestlemania 33.
