It appears that that Impact Wrestling is very close to signing a former WWE Champion.
Since July, it has been expected that Adam Scherr, the former Braun Strowman, will likely sign with Impact Wrestling. Rumors started after Scott D’Amore hinted on a live stream that Strowman would be signing with the promotion.
It appears that he had not agreed to a deal at that time but it looks like things have moved far along because PWInsider is reporting that Strowman was seen meeting with D’Amore last night at a hotel bar for Motor City Comic Con in Detroit, Michigan last night.
It was reported that both men were seen sitting and talking for a long time. It was also reported that D’AMore was there first and waited for Strowman to arrive.
Additionally, it was reported that Impact has been working on several surprises for the Bound For Glory pay-per-view taking place in Las Vegas next weekend.
Again, it is not confirmed that a deal has been signed but it looks like the odds are much better than they were just a few weeks ago and at that time it was believed that Strowman would likely go to Impact and not AEW.
