WWE performer Big E announced his engagement to partner Kris Yim via Instagram.
In his social media post (scroll down to see the photos), Big E wrote to Yim, “I can’t wait to be your husband, @krisyim.” Kris Yim is the sister of fellow wrestler Mia Yim (Michin). Big E also thanked “@lastsuppersociety… for making this day perfect.” Last Supper Society is identified as a Sacramento-based agency focused on cultural experiences involving food and events.
Big E is a former WWE Champion and an eight-time Tag Team Champion (two Raw, six SmackDown reigns held under the Freebird Rule) and part of the longest tag title reign in WWE history (483 days). His singles accolades also include being a two-time Intercontinental Champion, a former NXT Champion, and the 2021 Men’s Money in the Bank winner, which he cashed in to win his WWE Championship.
Ewen has been sidelined from in-ring competition since March 11, 2022, when he suffered a broken neck during a match on WWE SmackDown. The injury occurred when he landed on his head during an overhead belly-to-belly suplex delivered by Ridge Holland outside the ring, fracturing his C1 and C6 vertebrae. While Big E has reported feeling well and requires no surgery, doctors have advised him against wrestling again as scans indicated the C1 fracture healed fibrously but did not fully ossify (form new bone), making a return to the ring extremely risky.
Despite the career-altering injury, Big E has remained active with WWE in various non-wrestling roles. He frequently appears on Kickoff show panels for Premium Live Events, participates in community outreach programs, contributes to WWE’s NIL (Next In Line) program for college athletes, and has undertaken voice acting roles, including for Marvel’s upcoming ‘Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man’ series. He has maintained a positive public presence throughout his recovery.
Congratulations to Big E and Kris Yim on their engagement.
