Former WWE Diva not allowed backstage, interesting name backstage at Smackdown, CM Punk “Pipe Bomb” post

Here are some WWE news and notes:

– Former WWE Diva Lisa Marie Varon noted that she was at Smackdown Live in San Diego but she was not allowed backstage. There’s no word on why she was not allowed to visit. There were several former WWE Divas that were backstage at Raw in Los Angeles. You can see photos of them by clicking here.

The WWE Women’s Ladder match was incredible. Wanted to congratulate the gals, but the office said that I couldn’t go back stage. Maybe next time

– Tyson Kidd was backstage at Smackdown Live. Earlier, he tweeted about being on a flight and being seated next to the doctor that saved his life. As first reported by Pro Wrestling Sheet, Kidd is transitioning into a backstage role with the company. His career (at least in WWE) is likely over but given the seriousness of his neck injury, he will likely never wrestle again for any company.

– It’s been 6 years since infamous “Pipe Bomb” promo from CM Punk. It’s also the promo that set the wheels in motion to bring Paul Heyman back into the company. For those of you that don’t know, Heyman’s name was not to be mentioned on WWE programming and it seemed unlikely that he (and Brock Lesnar) would ever be back. That all changed in 2012. Punk took to Instagram with a rare wrestling-related post to acknowledge the anniversary of his promo.
