Veteran wrestling producer David Sahadi, known for his creative work in WWE during the Attitude Era, has departed from his role as an executive producer for MLW. A new report from PWInsider has shed light on the reasons for his exit.
David Sahadi Departs MLW
According to the report, the promotion has decided to make a change in its production. “We are told that the promotion has opted to move in another direction in terms of production,” PWInsider wrote. Sahadi had been with the company for a significant period, helping to shape the on-screen look of their weekly show.
A Potential Conflict Of Interest For Sahadi
The report also notes that there were “rumblings” backstage that Sahadi’s new position with the “Real American Freestyle” promotion may have played a role in his departure. It was reportedly “seen as a conflict of interest while also working with MLW,” though it is not believed that Sahadi was under an exclusive contract with the company.
Real American Freestyle is a new amateur wrestling-focused organization overseen by Eric Bischoff, which is set to launch its first show on August 30. Sahadi is heading up the production for the new venture, which will stream live on Fox Nation.
Sahadi, who also had a long run with TNA Wrestling, has several other projects in the works. He recently launched a new podcast, “Beyond The Lens,” on Conrad Thompson’s Podcast Heat network and has a memoir titled “Backstage Pass” scheduled for release in March 2026.
