The old saying in wrestling is that wrestlers never truly retire because many of them attempt a comeback at some point.
However, former WWE Superstar Gene Snitsky seems serious about his retirement. In a recent Instagram post, he announced that he would only do a few more shows before calling it a career.
Thankfully, he has a backup plan because he says that he plans on focusing more on weight training and doing appearances and spending more time with his wife Carianne.
Several months ago, we noted that Snitsky looked to be in phenomenal shape for his age and it looked like, based on his social media posts, that he was angling for a WWE return. Unfortunately, that was not in the cards for him.
Only gonna do a few more shows!!!!! I've decided to move on and focus more on other things like @carianneb1 for instance…. And ofcourse weight training and appearances just no more in ring competition lol….. I've been losing the love over the last few yrs and honestly don't like the way wrestling is going….. Just wanna thank all my fans…. for without you there would never have been a SNITSKY!!!! I truly love my fans and always will…… Thx for taking the time to watch me perform it means the world to me!!!!! #itsnotmyfault #stillnotmyfault #neverwillbemyfault
Most fans got to know Snitsky when he made his WWE debut in 2004, most notably with Lita and her unborn baby. He was released in 2006 but brought back as a monster character in 2007. He has worked on the independent scene since his release in 2008.
