Former WWE star Ashley Massaro has died at age 39

Former WWE Superstar Ashley Massaro has died at the age of 39, according to TMZ.

According to officials, she was transported from her home in Suffolk County, NY to a hospital where she died on Thursday morning. There is no word yet on the cause of death but her death is being classified as “non-criminal.”

Massaro was signed to a WWE contract after winning the 2005 Diva Search. She was released by WWE in 2008 after she claimed that she wanted to be home due to her daughter being sick.

Massaro was a Playboy cover girl and she was one of the cast members of “Survivor: China” during her time with WWE.

In 2016, she filed a lawsuit against WWE that claimed she was sexually assaulted at a US military base in 2008. The lawsuit claimed that she went through debilitating behavioral changes since leaving the company in 2008, including developing a drug addiction which the company helped her with by putting her in rehab. The lawsuit also claims that she suffered from memory loss, migraines, anxiety, and depression.

We send out deepest condolences to Massaro’s family.
