WWE will make history later on tonight. The professional wrestling juggernaut will hold their first-ever all-female pay-per-view in New York. The card will feature names such as Trish Stratus, Lita, Mickie James, Ronda Rousey, The Bella Twins, Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, and many more.
The decision by WWE to put on Evolution is a major step in the progression of women’s professional wrestling. Many believe that a women’s match would even one day headline a WrestleMania. With former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey now being on WWE’s roster, that may not be too far out of the realm of possibilities.
However, not all female professional wrestlers are too thrilled about WWE’s Evolution PPV. In fact, former WWE Women’s Champion and current NWA Women’s Champion Jazz told the “Duke Loves Rasslin’” show that she doesn’t “give a damn” about the PPV:
“I don’t give a damn about their Evolution because as the NWA Women’s Champion I’m creating my own Evolution. It’s about me. What I’m interested in is doing mixed tags. I’m really pulling for someone to book Rodney and myself as a tag team.
“You can say whatever you want but we really are the power couple when it comes to wrestling in this industry. I’m talking about my husband Rodney Mack okay? We are pound-for-pound the baddest dogs around and we claim it!
“If Stephanie McMahon and Triple H want a match just let me know, do I sign a piece of paper or just show up with my gear? You think I would back down from that? Stephanie? Oh my God; PLEASE!”
