Former WWE star not returning at the Royal Rumble?

WWE is just a few weeks away from presenting its Royal Rumble PLE from Tampa, FL, which is expected to feature the return of a former star, but that appears not to be the case.

Change of plans?

This is due to a star not finishing up with TNA Wrestling following Saturday night’s Hard to Kill pay-per-view event. The promotion presented its Snake Eyes TV tapings on Sunday, which was the company’s best live TV gate in its history, according to PWinsider.

Pwinsider reports the morale within the promotion was through the roof following the events as the TNA brand was officially brought back at Hard to Kill.

Trinity, aka Naomi, dropped the Knockouts Title to Jordynne Grace at Hard to Kill and put over Grace at the TV tapings in the rematch. At Hard to Kill, Trinity had a tearful sendoff, making fans believe she was wrapping up with the promotion after this weekend, as it had been previously reported Trinity is expected to be a free agent very soon and will be finishing up with TNA.

Return delayed?

Many people have thought she may be a surprise return in the Women’s Royal Rumble match, something internally expected. That may not be the case.

Pwinsider reports they were told Trinity had several more dates with the promotion and did not finish up on Sunday. WWE typically likes to bring in talent after they finish up with another promotion that has television, unlike letting talent finish up with independent dates as they’ve used people on TV while allowing them to finish out their commitments on the indies in the past.
