Former WWE Star Returning For Heatwave Title Match

A former WWE star is set to make her official in-ring return to the company at the upcoming NXT Heatwave premium live event. Ash By Elegance, formerly known as Dana Brooke in WWE, will compete in a triple threat match for the TNA Knockouts World Championship.

Ash By Elegance’s NXT Return

On this week’s episode of WWE NXT, General Manager Ava announced the championship match for the August 24th premium live event. The reigning champion, NXT’s Jacy Jayne, will defend her newly won TNA Knockouts World Title against both Masha Slamovich and Ash By Elegance.

This marks Ash By Elegance’s first official match in a WWE or NXT ring since she was released from her WWE contract in September 2023. She has made a couple of non-wrestling crossover appearances on NXT as part of the ongoing partnership with TNA, but this will be her first time competing on a WWE-branded show since her departure.

The TNA and NXT Crossover Continues

The story began at TNA’s Slammiversary pay-per-view in July, where Jacy Jayne defeated Masha Slamovich in a “Winner-Take-All” match to become a dual champion. Jayne has since defended the TNA title on an episode of TNA iMPACT! against Ash By Elegance, a match that set the stage for this three-way encounter at Heatwave.

As a preview for the upcoming PLE, a six-woman tag team match has been announced for next week’s episode of NXT. Jacy Jayne will team with her Fatal Influence stablemates, Fallon Henley and Jazmyn Nyx, to take on the trio of Ash By Elegance, Heather By Elegance, and M By Elegance, collectively known as The Elegance Brand.

The NXT Heatwave premium live event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, August 24, the same night as AEW’s Forbidden Door pay-per-view. The full card for NXT Heatwave also includes Jordynne Grace vs. Blake Monroe and a number one contender’s match for the NXT Women’s Championship. The show will air live on Peacock in the US.
