A former star who also had a run in WCW may be returning to WWE full-time.
While this star won’t be stepping into the squared circle and working in front of a live audience, he is getting a chance to shine backstage. That star is Dave Taylor.
Taylor broke into the business in the United Kingdom before heading to WCW in the mid-1990s, where he worked under various gimmicks, including Squire David Taylor in The Blue Bloods stable with Lord Steven Regal and Earl Robert Eaton, before splitting off into a tag team with Regal. They both left WCW in 2000.
He later had a short run in WWE before returning in 2006, where he teamed with Regal again and was also a trainer in WWE developmental. Taylor teamed up with Drew McIntyre and was a mentor before being let go in April 2008.
According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Taylor has been seen at recent WWE TV events. He is either back full-time with the company as a producer or is in the middle of a tryout. The report noted that he hasn’t seen him listed on any producer lists, indicating a feeling-out process.
It should be noted that Johnson said that some people have seen him while others haven’t seen him at shows at all. He has heard Taylor’s name bounce around quite a bit in the last couple of weeks.
