A Former WWE Star Reveals He May Need Surgery

Ridge Holland provided an update on his multiple injuries via social media, revealing he may need neck surgery. Holland is currently recovering from a significant foot injury he suffered in September during a TNA television taping.

Holland noted he is scheduled to visit Birmingham, Alabama, next Tuesday to have the cast on his foot removed and undergo further X-rays. “Next Tuesday I’ve got to go to Birmingham, Alabama, to have the cast cut off, some more x-rays to make sure the foot’s all good, and we can go possibly to partial weight bearing,” he stated.

However, he then revealed that a second, pre-existing injury is also being evaluated. “The kicker is that prior to the foot, I had a neck injury that I was going to get imaging for. I got imaging for the post-foot surgery and I’m going to Birmingham also to see the neck specialist,” Holland said.

He explained the potential outcomes, which range from injections to surgery. “I mean, worst case scenario, I’ll need surgery and I’m hoping for the best case scenario which is injections,” he added. “But I’m having some nerve impingement which is sending pain down my arm, so I’m a little bit apprehensive about what’s going to happen because it’s another kick in the balls, really. So I’ll keep you posted.”

The injury setbacks come at a difficult time for Holland. Earlier in October, he announced on social media that WWE had opted not to renew his contract, which is set to expire on November 14. He noted that while WWE will pay for his rehabilitation, his guaranteed pay will end, leaving him unable to work for several months.

Holland’s foot injury occurred during his run in TNA as part of the TNA/NXT crossover storyline. His injury, which has since been identified as a Lisfranc injury, happened during a match against Moose. We wish him a speedy recovery.
