In pro wrestling, the phrase "never say never" is said a lot but it seems like for some ex-WWE stars, there was very little chance that they would return to the company as long as Vince McMahon was in charge.
Things have changed and it seems like the door may be open for some to return, especially former talent that was treated well by Triple H.
Maria Kanellis first signed with WWE in 2004 after being discovered in the Divas Search. Her time with the company came to an end in 2009 and she later worked for Ring Of Honor, New Japan Pro Wrestling, and TNA, among other promotions. She returned to WWE in 2017 with her husband Mike Bennett (renamed Mike Kanellis) but their run didn't work out as they wanted, primarily because of how they were booked by Vince McMahon.
Kanellis and Bennett were released in 2020 and Kanellis has not been shy about her unhappiness with her last run but now, she seems ready to return if the call comes. Kanellis tweeted the following on Twitter after she was asked about a potential return:
".The wrestling world is wild right now. I always had a great working relationship with @TripleH and I know @RealMikeBennett liked his brief time in @WWENXT. The right opportunity is always timing meets talent. If it’s the right time, then it’s the right time. @WWE"
