The crossover between WWE and Lucha Libre AAA continues to produce unique matchups, with the latest announcement featuring a TNA Wrestling authority figure teaming up with a star from WWE NXT.
It has been announced that former WWE star Santino Marella, the on-screen Director of Authority for TNA, will team with NXT’s Lola Vice at AAA’s Verano de Escandalo event on Friday, July 11. The duo will face the current AAA Mixed Tag Team Champions, Mr. Iguana and La Hiedra, though the match has not been announced as a title bout.
The event, which currently has no U.S. broadcast plans, highlights the new working relationship following WWE’s acquisition of AAA. Vice recently competed at the WWE-AAA Worlds Collide event, while Mr. Iguana made a memorable impression on fans during the same show.
The card for Verano de Escandalo will also see WWE’s Angel & Berto defend their AAA World Tag Team Championships against Laredo Kid & Octagon Jr. The announced lineup for AAA Verano de Escandalo 2025 is as follows:
