Former WWE/TNA star says 2019 will be her last year in wrestling

Lisa Marie Varon, known to many as Victoria in WWE and Tara when she was in TNA Wrestling, has announced that 2019 will be her last year in the wrestling ring.

Varon said the following on Instagram: “Hey Gang!!! Year 2019 will be my last year wrestling in the Squared Circle. An exciting new adventure is to come. So if you are interested in booking me to wrestle in your promotion, please email BookLisaNow@gmail.com.”

Varon was under contract with WWE from 2000-2009 before moving to TNA Wrestling. She was one of the bright spots in the women’s division when she was in WWE during a time when they were heavily relying on women to be eye candy and focus less on wrestling.

Varon was one of the few women at the time being praised primarily for her character and in-ring work. Behind the scenes, she’s been praised as one of the nicest people in the business so it’s baffling that WWE hasn’t called her back for special appearances. They are looking to bring in some surprise names for the women’s Royal Rumble match so maybe she’ll get the call.

Varon is a 2-time WWE Women’s Champion and 5-time TNA Knockouts Champion. She also held the TNA Knockouts Women’s Tag Team Championship with Brooke Adams (aka Brooke Tessmacher).
