Former XFL star ‘He Hate Me’ Rod Smart is missing, family is worried

Former XFL star Rod Smart (aka He Hate Me) is missing, according to several media reports.

According to the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office in South Carolina, Smart has not been seen since June 12 around 10:30 am and his family is worried because it’s not usual for him to be out of touch for so long.

Police say he was last seen driving his silver 2016 Nissan Maxima with North Carolina tags.

Smart was one of the most recognizable names in the original XFL as part of the Las Vegas Outlaws in 2001 largely because of his “He Hate Me” nickname. The league allowed players to use nicknames on the back of their jerseys to help bring out their personalities.

Smart also played for the Canadian Football League and was later signed by the NFL’s Carolina Panthers and played with them from 2002 to 2005. In recent years, he worked as a personal trainer and guidance counselor.

More information on Smart, real name Tarrold Smart, can be seen below on the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page.

The Sheriff's Office is asking for your assistance to locate a missing person. If you have any information regarding his whereabouts please contact the Sheriff's Office. 803-283-3388
