FOX and ESPN interested in signing Renee Young when her WWE deal expires

The Wrestling Observer newsletter is reporting that FOX and ESPN have expressed interest in signing Renee Young once her WWE contract expires.

This is not the first time that ESPN has expressed interest in Young. In 2014, it was expected that ESPN would make a major play to get her last year. My assumption is that that WWE made a better deal to keep her or ESPN was not able to get her because her contract was not due yet. It’s no surprise that she’s getting offers to cover mainstream sports. She has been praised by virtually everyone in the company and fans for how good she is on interviews and hosting segments. She also represents the company well in media and charity events.

Young, who is a former sportscaster for The Score in Canada,  has been with WWE since October 2012. She wears many hats in WWE. She does backstage interviews with talent, hosts the panel segments on pay-per-view pre-shows, hosts the “Unfiltered” show on the WWE Network, and at one time she was part of the “WWE Superstars” commentary booth.
