During a recent interview on SoCal Val’s “The Velvet Ropes” for WrestlingNews.co, TNA veteran Frankie Kazarian discussed several opponents he would still love to face in his career. When asked to name his top dream opponent, the first name that came to his mind was his longtime friend and rival, AJ Styles. (Scroll down to watch the entire interview)
“The first name that comes to mind, and it’s been discussed a lot this year, is AJ Styles,” Kazarian said. He acknowledged “we’ve wrestled each other literally hundreds of times,” but the respect he has for Styles and his career makes it a match he wants to have again.
Kazarian gave high praise to what Styles has accomplished since joining WWE. “The guy had a Hall of Fame career when he was in TNA, and what he’s done in the last decade there is just unprecedented,” he stated. “So I would love to do that dance one more time with him.”
Kazarian also listed several other top names in WWE that he has never had the opportunity to wrestle. “Guys that I have not yet had the privilege to get in the ring with, we’re talking guys like Randy Orton, guys like Rey Mysterio,” he said. He also expressed a desire to face a fellow Southern California wrestling veteran, The Miz. “Hell, I’d love to mix it up with The Miz, my old buddy The Miz.”
He stated that at this point in his 27-year career he has been fortunate to wrestle many people, but there are still a few that he has missed. “There’s still a few out there that have, we’ve just kind of been two ships crossing in the night. So I would like to scratch those guys’ names off the list for sure,” he concluded.
