Freddie Prinze Jr recalls the time Vince McMahon caught him playing World of Warcraft in a meeting

Former WWE writer and actor Freddie Prinze Jr recently appeared on The New Day: Feel The Power. Prinze Jr would reveal a ton from his time in the WWE writer’s room, as well as admitting that the schedule was too much to keep up with and why he eventually left.

“I worked for the WWE in 2007, and then a little bit the following year as well” Prinze Jr revealed. “The second time it was more just like acting lessons. Doing coaching and things like that at pay per views and every once in a while at TV. But my first stint there? It was full on writers room every day. And then to every single TV, and it was crazy. I was not built for that business, that schedule, that lifestyle and I couldn’t hack it and eventually had to tap out.”

Prinze Jr would then tell an incredible story of when Vince McMahon ‘caught’ him playing video games in a writer’s meeting. “I love video games” Prinze Jr revealed. “Yeah I got busted in a production meeting with Vince. On a conference call, on World of Warcraft. Because I’d already pitched my segment he was like ‘yeah all right we got that’ and we’re moving on.”

Prinze Jr would then reveal that started playing WOW again but forgot a very important, and audible, facet of his character. “And then my dwarf was in a raid. He was this Dwarven priest, and I just was in the middle of my moment so I wasn’t thinking about the work call anymore. I was in my apartment, and so I hit the forward slash charge, which is like an emoji for people who don’t know. Only this one in particular? Your dwarf would actually speak and it was like this battle cry! So Vince said ‘WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT!?'”

Anyone who has worked around Vince McMahon over the years will say that Vince’s entire life is dedicated to WWE and he doesn’t take a lot of time off for non-wrestling things. Aside from some football, WWE is his life so it’s no surprise to find out that he has never heard of World Of Warcraft, or any video game, for that matter.
