Gable Steveson Internally Praised for the Progress He’s Made in WWE Training

WWE has brought in Gable Steveson for a storyline in NXT between Eddy Thorpe and Damon Kemp, who is the real-life brother of Steveson.

Steveson has appeared on NXT TV the last few weeks, including Tuesday’s show. He will be in the corner of Thorpe on next week’s episode for the Underground match.

Steveson was supposed to already be on the WWE main roster by now as he was drafted to Raw in October 2021 through the WWE Draft. WWE’s plans for him were delayed as he underwent a heart procedure.

He returned to amateur competition ahead of an appearance at the upcoming US Open.

While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted Steveson has been praised for the progress he has made in training.

“He’s in now, which is really weird because he’s going to be around and he still has those world championships in September and all those guys in the world championships are like training. Even though he beat all those guys in America, some of those guys in the world championships have beaten the guys in America. He’s complete freak….I have heard from people who say that Gable is picking things up and he’s gonna be better than a lot of people originally thought.”
