Wyatt Hendrickson achieved a stunning upset victory over top-seeded Gable Steveson in the NCAA National Championship heavyweight division, securing a 5-4 win.
This victory marked a significant upset, as Steveson entered the match with an undefeated 17-0 record for the season and a near-flawless NCAA career, having suffered only two previous losses during his freshman year.
Steveson signed a multi-year contract with WWE in 2021. After a highly successful amateur wrestling career, he went to training for his pro wrestling career full-time.
Steveson worked a handful of live events in NXT and dark matches at SmackDown events. However, his only TV match was a no-contest with Baron Corbin at an NXT PLE in 2023. He was released last year.
