Gawker Media’s decision to publish Hulk Hogan’s sex tape from 2012 could cost them up to $100 million dollars

Hulk Hogan’s sex tape that was published by Gawker Media back in 2012 could cost the company up to $100 million, according to Capital New York and Business Insider.

The report goes on to say that if the company would have to pay Hogan that kind of money then it would result in the company’s founder, Nick Denton, to sell the company or seek outside investors.

The media outlet published clips of the tape featuring Hogan and Heather Clem (then wife of his friend Bubba the Love Sponge). Hogan threatened to sue and then ended up doing so against the media outlet.

In the report, Gawker founder Denton told Business Insider that the lawsuit unlikely put the company out of the business but is always possible.
