Over the years there have been stories about JBL from wrestlers regarding his alleged backstage bullying. It was alleged JBL would take ribs/pranks too far and it would not be good-natured.
Some accusations came from the likes of Justin Roberts in his book a few years ago, Joey Styles punching JBL for his behavior, and JBL taking hard shots at Meanie during their brawl at an ECW One Night Stand show that resulted in Meanie being bloodied and injured. There was also the situation with Mauro Ranallo when he called SmackDown with JBL.
Gerald Brisco, who co-hosts the “Stories With Brisco And Bradshaw” podcast with JBL, did an interview with Busted Open Radio where he spoke about the accusations made against the former WWE Champion.
“JBL is one of those entertaining guys. John kind of gets categorized into this category of being a bit of a bully and all that. But he’s one of the most kind-hearted guys that you can ever come across.”
Brisco brought up what JBL has done with a rugby league on the island of Bermuda that helps kids who ended up playing division one college rugby. He also pointed out how JBL has gone to Memphis, TN to do fundraising for inner-city kids and their education.
“John is just a wonderful person. We are both positive people, once you get to know John and know his kind heart.”
