The Godfather Sets Record Straight On BSK Vs. The Kliq Backstage Politics

WWE Hall of Famer The Godfather recently shed light on the backstage dynamic between two of the most famous factions of the 1990s: the Bone Street Krew (BSK) and The Kliq. On the No-Contest Wrestling Podcast, he clarified that despite their different social circles, there was no animosity between the groups and confirmed a long-standing rumor about BSK coming to The Kliq’s aid in a bar.

“We weren’t political. We were just everybody was watching everybody’s back,” The Godfather said of BSK. When asked how they dealt with the well-known political influence of The Kliq, he was blunt. “Nobody f— with us, man,” he stated. “To be honest, nobody… Shawn and that group didn’t mess with us. We were friends with them. I mean, we had no animosity with nobody… Politically, they didn’t affect anything that we did.”

The Halifax Bar Incident

He also confirmed the story that BSK once backed up The Kliq during a tense situation at a bar in Canada. “I think it was in, like, Halifax, Nova Scotia… and there was a bar that we used to go to,” he began. “We showed up, and we’ve seen that The Kliq was getting ready to get their ass… the thing about BSK, we weren’t looking to fight… But if you had to fight, we’d be ready… So we just happened to show up… and of course, we backed them up, man. Said, ‘Hey, let’s get this party started.’ And they decided they didn’t [want to fight].”

The Bone Street Krew Roster

The Godfather also detailed the roster of the legendary backstage group. “It started off Yoko being basically the leader of the group,” he explained. “It was Yoko, Taker, me, Rikishi, The Godwinns, Savio Vega, Paul Bearer, Mr Fuji, and Crush.”

The Bone Street Krew was famous for their bond and for playing dominoes backstage, which is where the “Bone Street” name originated. The Kliq famously consisted of Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, and Sean Waltman (X-Pac).
