Goldberg Calls Out WWE Over Retirement Promo Being Cut Off: ‘It Shows What Disrespect They Have For Me’

Goldberg has publicly shared his frustration with how WWE handled his retirement sendoff, sarcastically responding to a fan at a meet-and-greet about having his microphone cut during his farewell speech and strongly implying that Triple H was responsible for the decision.

The interaction took place when a fan brought up the moment Goldberg’s mic was cut while he was delivering his retirement speech following his final match. The fan made clear he was still upset about the situation, and Goldberg’s response left no doubt about how he feels.

“You know what pissed me off? When WWE cut off your mic at your final match,” the fan said.

Goldberg responded with pointed sarcasm. “Yeah, what do you think it did for me? It made me really happy,” Goldberg said. “It shows what disrespect they have for me.”

The conversation then turned to who specifically made the call to cut the microphone. When the fan asked whether Triple H was behind the decision, Goldberg did not push back. “What jackass was it? Was it Triple H who did that?” the fan asked. Goldberg’s reply was a single word. “Probably.”

When the fan escalated further by calling Triple H a jackass, Goldberg offered no defense of WWE’s Chief Content Officer, responding simply with “100 percent.”

His relationship with WWE has been an on-and-off one across multiple runs with the company, and the tension his comments reveal suggests his retirement may have left a lasting rift between himself and the current WWE management. This is not the first time that Goldberg has criticized WWE for the incident.
