Goldberg comments on fans not liking Roman Reigns, says his relationship with WWE has changed

Goldberg recently spoke with Justin Barrasso of SI.com to promote this Sunday’s Royal Rumble PPV event. During the interview, he was asked about his current relationship with Vince McMahon. He noted that at the end of the day, it’s a business and that sometimes when ego gets in the way, it makes people do things that aren’t conducive to a good business relationship. He thinks that is the reason things played out for both sides during his first stint with the company in 2003-2004. He said that he’d take full credit for being a jerk at times but noted that people grew up and times have changed. He added that he has changed and is now a family man.

When asked about Roman Reigns’ rise in WWE, he said that he doesn’t know the metric of Reigns’ rise or what they’ve done with him so he wouldn’t pass judgment by any means. He noted that when WWE pushes someone down people’s throats, people resent it. “I wasn’t privy to it in real time, I didn’t see everything, but I think Roman is a great kid. I feel really bad that anyone would go out there and boo him based not off of not liking him or his ability, but just based upon the situation.” He added that Reigns is a professional and the only thing that he doesn’t like Reigns is because he went to Georgia Tech.

Goldberg also talked about AJ Styles, Royal Rumble and more. You can read the entire interview here.
