Bill Goldberg on why he returned to WWE, facing Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series, Vince McMahon

Bill Goldberg appeared on ESPN SportsCenter Tuesday morning to promote the WWE 2K17 video game and his upcoming match with Brock Lesnar at the WWE Survivor Series pay-per-view event later this month.

When asked about his decision to come back, He said that he made the decision to come back, but he is still soul searching. Goldberg added that when he was asked to be the character that he played 12 years ago again is pretty cool. Goldberg said he could not pass up the opportunity.

When asked what he tells his son about his character, he said that he doesn’t tell him much but at this stage in his life he can go and watch his moments on YouTube. He said that he was glad to have his son in the front row of RAW for his last two appearances.

When asked about preparing for the match, Goldberg said that he is pushing 50 years old, and people are expecting him to enter the ring in a wheelchair but that’s not the case as he has been training with younger people than he is. Goldberg added that wrestling is a young man’s sport, but he has a young man’s heart.

Finally, he was asked his relationship with Vince McMahon. Goldberg explained that back in the day his relationship with Vince was tumultuous, to say the least. He and Vince have talked about it. He said that having people look up to him means a lot. Goldberg added that this (returning to WWE) was an opportunity he couldn’t pass up.
