Goldberg Says He’s “Getting There” For WWE Retirement Match

WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg is methodically preparing for his highly anticipated retirement match, previously announced to take place in WWE during Summer 2025. Speaking on the Carcast podcast, the 58-year-old legend shared an update on his training progress and physical condition.

“I feel a little bit better, I’ve gained a little bit of weight man… I’m getting there man, I’ve got a little bit of time left,” Goldberg stated, emphasizing patience with the idiom, “Slowly but surely, Rome wasn’t built in a day.” He also confirmed the positive news that he is “injury free as of right now,” despite it being “really tough to control myself.”

Discussing his shoulder rehabilitation after significant issues in December, Goldberg likened the process to auto restoration: “It’s like rebuilding a car. You’ve got to strip it down to the bare minimum and sequentially build it in a logical form… I can’t get overzealous and put shit on before it’s time.” He remains optimistic, concluding, “It’s a very slow process but I think the way I’m going about it is hopefully gonna work.”
