Goldberg’s WWE Retirement Match May Take Place On Same Date As Major AEW Show

WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg’s retirement match is set for 2025, and new details suggest it could occur in a significant location and on a major summer date. Goldberg himself revealed in an interview this week that his final bout is “going to be in ‘the south.'”

Sources speaking with Fightful Select this week have indicated that Atlanta is the city tentatively planned to host the farewell match. This aligns with Goldberg’s deep history with the area, having called Atlanta home and played football for both the Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Falcons.

Even more strategically, while not yet officially announced by WWE, Fightful Select reports that a Saturday Night’s Main Event is internally slated for Saturday, July 12, 2025. This date is notably reported to be “the same day as AEW All In.”

While Fightful notes “nothing is official, and we can’t confirm that will be the actual retirement of Goldberg” on that specific date, the report confirms “he is absolutely being discussed for that planned show.”

AEW and WWE won’t go head-to-head on July 12th as AEW’s show will air in the afternoon while SNME will air that night.
