Good news for WWE stars stuck in Saudi Arabia

There’s finally some good news for the wrestlers stuck in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The WWE flight from Riyadh is expected to leave at 3:52 am local time. That would 8:52 pm eastern time. The plane is expected at JFK Airport in New York City by tomorrow morning at 9:40 am eastern.

Atlas Air, the charter company flying wrestlers back to the United States, issued the following statement on the mechanical issues:

“A chartered WWE passenger flight operated by Atlas Air is currently delayed in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia due to a mechanical issue. The flight was scheduled to depart at 0300 local time on November 1. Our top priority is always to ensure our passengers arrive safely and on time at their destination. The aircraft is being repaired and will be inspected and certified before returning to service to transport our passengers to their final destination. We regret that operational disruptions delayed the flight and apologize to our passengers who were inconvenienced.”

The statement backs up WWE’s claim that mechanical issues caused delays. Earlier today, there were rumors that there was another issue not related to the plane that caused the delays.

The Raw Superstars need to be at the nearby Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, NY so, unless they want to fly home and back after a few hours, the roster will likely stay in the area and then go home after Raw on Monday night.
