WWE Intercontinental Champion Gunther continues to rack up accomplishments during his unbelievable reign.
Reign
Gunther became the Intercontinental Champion by defeating Shinsuke Nakamura for the title and later surpassing Nakamura’s 201-day reign, which ended in 2019. He surpassed the record for the longest reign with the Intercontinental Championship this past September, where he broke The Honky Tonk Man’s record, which had stood for 35 years.
He was moved to Raw alongside Imperium last year during the Draft, where he has continued to make defenses.
Gunther has held the title for 650 days. Last month, he became the longest-reigning WWE Intercontinental Champion when the total combined days for champions with combined reigns was 650.
Stat
According to CageMatch.Net, Gunther has defended the title 100 times in matches across house shows, television, and premium live events. His first defense was against Ricochet at a house show on June 11, 2022, while his last defense was against Jey Uso at the March 10th house show.
WWE has already announced that Gunther will defend the Intercontinental Title against Sami Zayn at WrestleMania 40.
