Intercontinental Champion Gunther has now hit an impressive WWE milestone after showcasing his dominance across multiple WWE brands this year.
His last NXT UK match happened in January before moving to the NXT brand and getting a name change, only to be called up to the main roster in April, joining the SmackDown brand.
He became the Intercontinental Champion in June, defeating Shinsuke Nakamura for the title, and has now held the title for 200 days. He has also surpassed Shinsuke Nakamura’s 201-day reign, which ended in 2019.
Before the end of the year, he will have held the title longer than anyone in a single reign since Cody Rhodes’ 234-day reign in 2011.
As exclusively reported by WrestlingNews.co, WWE has big plans for Gunther at WrestleMania 39.
