During tonight’s episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown, Gunther defeated Ricochet to win the Intercontinental Championship.
This is Gunther’s first title on the main roster. He was previously the WWE United Kingdom Champion. Gunther’s title win comes after a report stating that Vince McMahon is very high on him.
Gunther won the match cleanly after hitting a dropkick and a powerbomb. Clearly, there are plans to push him up as a top star on the brand.
